Thai Yoga Therapy
Thai yoga therapy, also known as Thai massage, might best be described as a flowing sequence of yogic principles, postures, and breath awareness created and applied by the therapist to a passive receiver.
Thai yoga therapy combines the postures of yoga with techniques of massage to relieve chronic muscular tension, improve circulation, deeply cleanse body tissues, and to open energy channels throughout the body creating a free flow of balanced energy.
The practitioner combines flowing, rocking movements along with assists and holds in various yoga postures while simultaneously using thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to sink into energy lines (called “sen”).
The overall effect of Thai massage is often a profound sense of well-being, peacefulness, and rejuvenation. While many yoga practitioners experience greater ease, flexibility and a deepening of their awareness as a result of Thai massage, no prior yoga experience is required to benefit from this practice.
